Universal Sharpening Jig Replacement Roller

Brass is softer than sharpening stones to avoid damaging them, but the brass roller can be damaged if it gets stuck due to rapidly sharpening on rough grit stones or if the roller is dirty and not spinning freely.

Please ensure the roller is cleaned, lubricated and spinning freely. We recommend 3-in-1 oil or lithium grease. Use care not to go back and forth rapidly, especially on lower grit diamond stones.

Jonathan recommends letting the weight of your fingers do the the work and and not aggressively pushing down on the jig while sharpening. Much like a hand saw the stone cuts better without putting too much pressure on it.
